Q&A: How can I stop erosion?

A: The two ways to prevent corrosion are to stop the salt getting to the metal and washing it off if it does. For the prevention you can use coatings such as Waxoyl.
Keep moving parts well lubricated with suitable greases and pay particular attention to any electrical compenents. A spray of WD40 will drive off water and help protect.
After exposure, rinse the trailer with fresh water. Be aware that a pressure washer can blast off any sealant (such as Waxoyl) and lubricants for bearings etc.
Allow bearings to cool down before washing off (and never drive a trailer into the water as soon as you arrive at the shore).
