Q&A: Driving on narrow lanes

Q: Does the highway code require drivers to give way to cars pulling trailers on narrow lanes?

A: There is no legal requirement
to give way to a car and trailer on a narrow country lane. Most road users are
sensitive to the problems of reversing a horse trailer and will generally give
way. It should not, however, be taken for granted and should certainly be
appreciated.
